About my practice:

While normal, the emotional distress we experience can feel overwhelming and be difficult to navigate. Our actions can negatively impact how we function or hurt the people around us who matter most. With a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect, therapy can be a way to better understand yourself and your relationships, and help clarify what is most important to you.

I work collaboratively with clients to identify behaviours and patterns they wish to change and to better understand and manage thoughts, emotions and urges so that they can feel confident about the choices they make. My interventions, which build on strengths, are based on and tailored to the changing needs of the people I work with. As such, I use an integrative approach to counselling which harnesses evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also draw on theoretical systemic frameworks which take into account the myriad factors that influence behaviour.
